FAMILY LANGUAGE TUTOR

The “Family Language Tutor” Program is a cultural and language exchange that allows English native speakers to discover Italy and the real Italian culture by teaching English to Italian host family members for a period of 1-3 months, in exchange for room and board. The program offers the satisfaction of helping people learn English and a way to broaden your world-view, strengthen your resume and experience the Italian life from “the inside”.

Duration and start dates
  • Duration: 4 to 12 weeks.
  • Positions available throughout the year.
  • Arrivals and departures on Saturdays.
  • Complete documentation at least 8 weeks prior the desired start date.
Location Throughout Italy. Final location depends on where the host family available is located.
Accommodation With a carefully selected Host Family.
Responsibilities Tutor the host family in conversational English in exchange for room and board.

  • Up to 15 hours per week.
  • 5 days a week.

Respect host family’s rules and habits.
Activities
  • Prepare fun activities to teach English to kids.
  • Help children with their homework.
  • Play games and outside activities while interacting in English.
  • Help adults with conversational English.
  • Prepare grammar lessons.
  • Help adults prepare English exams.
Who can participate English native speakers aged 18 to 60 years old, regardless of their academic background.
We are looking for enthusiastic people willing to share their language and culture with a friendly and nice host family. We accept American, Australian, Canadian, Kiwi, South African and European Participants.
Included
  • Tutoring position prior to departure.
  • Private room with a with a carefully selected Host Family.
  • Meals with the Host Family (except when traveling).
  • Welcome and pick up at the airport or at the bus/train station.
  • Professional Italian staff to provide supervision and guidance throughout your stay.
  • Pre-departure material and useful orientation information.
