International Experience - Scambi Culturali Home-stay Edition

Responsibilities and activities
  • Teach English to kids aged 6 to 14 in Italian Summer Camps up to 20 hours per week, for 5 days a week.
  • Teach English through games, sports and songs in different camp locations, where tutors will be driven by the camp staff.
  • Teach English grammar with the material provided.
  • Be prepared on the pre-departure and teaching material provided before arrival in Italy.
  • Create new activities for the kids.
Who can be a counselor in Italy English native speakers aged 20 to 35 years old, with a college degree or at least college students. Alternatively, a TEFL certificate or a previous camp experience are accepted as well. Counselors have to be in very good physical health and have lots of enthusiasm and energy to share with the kids.

Home-stay Edition

The home-stay version gives participants the possibility of exploring up to 3 different Italian towns and settings while living the real Italian life through the hospitality of local host families. You will attend 2 days orientation and stay in a shared dorms or local host families located in Marche region upon your arrival. After that, you will reach your first host family’s home and volunteer with the first camp for two weeks. Then you will reach another location to volunteer at a second camp and live with a second host family for the last 2 weeks.

Duration 4-5 weeks.
Start date June 10th, 2020
Location Marche region for initial orientation, then move to other 2 locations (depending on where the school available to host the camps are located).
Accommodation Shared dorm or host family during orientation. Then with 2 different Italian host families.
Included
  • Camp counselor position prior to departure.
  • Accommodation: Shared dorms + 2 host families (private room or shared with another tutor).
  • 2 meals/day during orientation and most meals with the host families.
  • Orientation course in Marche region.
  • Transportation from Rome International Airport to orientation site (on the designed day and time).
  • Transportation to the 2 host families.
