All I can say is GO!

This was truly the best thing I have ever done. The children were so eager to learn and so enthusiastic, which made it so rewarding. They welcome you into their lives with open arms and have so many questions about where you come from. They are very affectionate, so embrace the hugs and kisses. I spent my time in Macerata which is a beautiful old city and gives you a real authentic experience, rather than a tourist one. I learnt so much about myself, and became best friends with my mentors and fellow camp counsellors. My advice to you would be ask the locals what they recommend as that’s where I discovered my favorite places- caves and beaches included! Just go and go for as long as possible. I miss it everyday.

Oh and one more thing before you go- google the etiquette especially in regards to table manners and practice phrases (I made a lot of mistakes).
